Behavior: This is a solitary animal, living in well-marked territories in burrows or dens. It does not often travel outside this area except when migrating to a new area. Only a few individuals actually migrate, and these are usually young male bobcats looking for food or a site for their own territory. It feeds mainly on hares and cottontail rabbits, but also eats rodents and deer. Its den is always well tended, especially that of the female, who gives birth in it.
