Habitat
Gopher snakes are found in a wide variety of habitats, including woodlands, deserts, agricultural areas (such as cultivated fields), prairies, chaparral, and shrublands.

Food Habits
Gopher snakes use constriction to capture and kill their prey. Typical prey include small mammals, birds, lizards, smaller snakes, insects, and eggs.
