Plants that lurk in slimy, dank habitats, capturing and devouring hapless insects aren’t sci-fi imaginings; it happens in marshes, bogs and swamps where conditions are right for carnivorous plants. Carnivorous, of course, means “meat eating,†and the plants are pitcher plants.
