Most deserts have two things in common and the deserts in Africa have both, low precipitation and extreme heat. Plants you can find in the Namib, Kalahari, and Sahara deserts include palm date, acacia, camelthorn, and orange trees. The oldest plant in the world, the Welwitchia, makes the Namib its home.
